Hyperactive's Race Schedule
Team Hyperactive races F1-24 in the American Power Boat Association (APBA) Offshore Division Great Lakes Silver Cup Series.
Sometimes we make a national race, typically one that is held on the Great Lakes. If we are really enjoying the abuse we may even go to the World's again!
The Offshore Division races are usually held on Sunday in the early afternoon. Do try to get there Friday evening for the parties and other great events the promoters usually have as part of an exciting all weekend event! Just look for a hotel with a bunch of race boats parked outside. I'll even let you buy me a drink on Friday night, since I can't even think of having one Saturday night before the race. All riding crew have to pass a physical exam before the race that includes at least a reaction time test, if not an actual breathalyzer test for alcohol. We are very serious about safety on the race course!
APBA Offshore Great Lakes Silver Cup Series Year 2000
Schedule.
Here are our 1999 season's results, including our 4th of July crash and such fun things....
June 11, 12, 13 Muskegon, Michigan (We took Second Place!!!)
The dark spot in the sky behind us is the AeroEFX helicopter heading our way to stick a camera in our face.
We turned out to be the featured team on the video for this race!
Check out our links to get to the AeroEFX web site.
July 2, 3, 4 Eastlake, Ohio (We "Retired Before The First Lap")
OK, what that really means is:
1. the boat went up in the air as it came off of a wave
(no big deal- its supposed to, and had already done so several times in this race with no ill effect)
2. while it was in the air and on the way back down, the next wave barely tipped the bottom of the boat way back near the transom.
(Somewhere between a little deal and a BIG deal. This causes the stern to pitch up, and the bow to pitch down)
3. the bow of the boat went through the middle of the next wave, and we went from 70 to 0 in what felt like about a nanosecond. We are both OK, with a few cuts and BIG bruises and scrapes, but we walked away without needing an emergency room. The boat did not fare quite so well, and we are out for the season.
(So... it turned out to be a BIG deal.)

(Needless to say, we did NOT race at any of the races listed below.)

August 20, 21, 22 Hamilton, Ontario, CANADA
